Video: Waters, ‘I Feel Everything’

Movie buffs might recognize the locale for WATERS’ new video from the film “Drive” – it’s the Pink Motel and its coffee shop Cadillac Jack’s, situated in mid-century splendor in the nether reaches of the San Fernando Valley. And rock fans will recognize “I Feel Everything” as the single from WATERS’ new “It All Might be OK” EP that came out last month. The song  exudes a strong “Blue Album” Weezer vibe, even if director Brendan Vaughan’s video, a one-shot Steadicam number, gives us a mild case of the creeps, with its interesting cast of characters. The latter was purely intentional, the band’s frontman Van Pierszalowski explains. “It reflects the perfect combination of lost romance, grim present, and slightly hopeful coloring that the song is about,” he says. “I’m tired of music videos with rock bands featuring smiling happy people with nice perfect haircuts. I wanted this video to be uncomfortable, and for the viewer to be filled with emotions, both positive and negative, because that is what the song is about.” “It All Might Be OK,” made with Ryan Rabin of Grouplove, is the follow-up to the 2011 album “Out in the Light.”
