If you’re just leaving the office to enjoy your long holiday weekend, we’ve got the perfect song to soundtrack your escape. Thurston Moore‘s title track of his forthcoming album “The Best Day” seems appropriate and there’s more good news than just the song itself. Moore recently formed a new band with James Sedwards (Nought), Deb Googe (My Bloody Valentine) and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth). It’s somewhat of a supergroup when you think about it, and depending on whether or not you’re still super sad about the dissolution of the best marriage in noise-rock history, this new union of friends might make you a bit happier. Since it’s Friday, we suggest just taking in those classic rock guitar solos and drifting off into the weekend. “The Best Day” is slated for an Oct. 21 release on Matador.
