With a name like Body Parts, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Ryder Bach, Alina Cutrono, Raymond Proudfoot, and Taylor Dexter have kept it moving this year. “People” is the fourth song they’ve churned out this year and with each tune, the harmonies and textures vary in every way any fan of art-pop would want them to. Attempting to stay up with their kinetic speed, we’ve grown accustomed to Body Parts’ quirky ways and sudden sweeping melodies on top of the catchy syncopation. “People” doesn’t fall short of our new expectations with its ’80 funk and smooth R&B sounds. The track is perhaps the ballad out of the recent bunch, but is still an enticing slice for those looking forward to their forthcoming debut “Fire Dream” (out Oct. 29 via Father/Daughter Records).
