Who: Mac DeMarco on the Outdoor Stage
In 3 or Fewer Words: Tossed salad days.
Forgettable Because: Maybe it was too hot for fart jokes, but Mac DeMarco’s slacker-songwriter shtick just left this writer pining for a Ween reunion. DeMarco daydreamed through the mellow affair, perfect for lazing about under a cloud of smoke, but not especially memorable otherwise. There was a cover of Bob Marley’s “Jamming.” (Of course.) Coachella is renowned for its surprise guest appearances, a legend that now includes comedian Eric Andre playing theremin with a dildo. Gee, thanks Mac.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was At Sturgill Simpson: If I could choose again, I might have taken your Nashville over my Hashville.
