Coachella 2015: Interpol, mighty on the Main Stage

InterpolWho: Interpol on the Main Stage.
In 3 or Fewer Words: Old reliable.
Memorable Because: Interpol have become festival staples, worthy of no lower than second-line status on any flyer, because their exceptional noirish dance-punk never ages and they appeal to both rock and dance audiences. And as last summer at FYF Fest, they rocked a healthy crowd with an 11-song set that might have puzzled their superfans. Unless we’e mistaken, there were more songs from 2002’s “Turn On the Bright Lights” (but no “Obstacle” or “NYC,” darn) and 2004’s “Antics” — four apiece — than their new record, “El Pintor.” For that matter, their 2007 and 2010 albums were unrepresented. Oh, well. On their third Coachella visit and second on the Main Stage, Interpol again proved those bright lights still shine.
What I’d Tell My Friends Who Pete Tong: The lights were pretty bright there too, yeah?
