Desert Daze — that other festival in the Coachella Valley — returns for a fourth year on May 2, with a lineup headed up by Warpaint, RJD2, Failure, Dan Deacon, Chelsea Wolfe and the Budos Band. Minus the Bear will perform 2004’s “They Make Beer Commercials Like This,” and other notable names among the 40 or so acts playing include Mini Mansions, DIIV, Fever the Ghost, Psychic Ills and White Lung and many more.

Staged by Moon Block (fka Moon Block Party), the one-day affair goes off at the Sunset Ranch Oasis in Mecca (69-520 S. Lincoln St.). It’s 143 miles from downtown L.A., or about 13 miles farther than Coachella.

General admission tickets are $55, with camping options starting at $75 and up.
