Lili Haydn, the singer/composer/rock violinist who made a strong comeback from health woes with last year’s album “Lililand,” will headline the LA Weekly Live Music Stage at the Chinese New Year Festival on Saturday, Feb. 21, in Chinatown.

Haydn will be joined by host of emerging L.A. artists on a day that will feature the 116th Annual Golden Dragon Parade, an afternoon affair that wends its way through Chinatown on Hill and Broadway streets. The celebration of the Year of the Ram also boasts cultural performances, artisans, a craft beer garden (opposite the music stage), culinary demonstrations, gourmet food trucks, vendors, vintage photo booths and family activities. It’s free and all-ages.

The year’s first showcase on Chinatown’s popular Live Music Stage also features sets from Sun Drug (fka Vanaprasta), Decorator, Jessica Fichot, Dutch Party, Mount Saint, Hunny and Green Gerry. The live music starts at noon, breaks for the parade just after 1 p.m. and then resumes after the parade.

Early arrival is recommended, since Hill and Broadway streets will be closed for part of the afternoon due to the parade. The festival is easily accessible from the Metro Gold Line Station in Chinatown.
