Happy Monday (we think):

â–º Mates of State [pictured], the long-running indie-pop duo of Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel, have “new songs and a new approach,” they say — and, ostensibly, an eighth album in the works (their last was 2011’s “Mountaintops”). They headline the Bootleg HiFi, supported by Babes and Fictionist.
â–º The Ting Tings, back with a lackluster new album “Super Critical,” headline the Troubadour, supported by Kaneholler.
â–º London’s Wolf Alice makes their L.A. debut at It’s a School Night at Bardot, where Beginners, Moors and Sabila Sabila also play.
► And the bands playing free January residencies bid a fond farewell — Holychild (supported by Air Life and Liphemra); Wildling at the Satellite (with Travelers, Midnight Swim Club and Alyeska); and the Fontaines at the Silverlake Lounge (joined by Low Volts, the Sixth Son and Jr.)
