Nashville crazies JEFF the Brotherhood have announced that their bigger, louder new album, “Wasted on the Dream,” will be released March 10 via Warner Bros. The much-anticipated follow-up to the 2012 Dan Auerbach-produced “Hypnotic Nights” features Dead Weather/Raconteurs bassist Jack Lawrence and a slew of guests, including Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast and Diarrhea Planet guitarists Evan Bird and Emmett Miller. And did we mention a flute solo by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull? As evidenced by the clamorous new song “What’s a Creep,” brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall give a proper nod to the 1990s on the new record. As Jamin explains, “We envisioned creating something similar in feel to a lot of the rock records that came out in the ’90s, back when bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana were playing big arena shows.” That song, along with “Coat Check Girl,” are instant-gratification downloads with a pre-order of the album, and there’s also the promise that JEFF the Brotherhood is expanding to a four-piece live. Bigger, louder.
