A new electronic music festival headlined by Empire of the Sun and Chromeo will debut in mid-March at Waterfront Park in downtown San Diego. CRSSD Festival – co-promoted by Goldenvoice and the year-old San Diego company FNGRS CRSSD – will go off March 14 and 15, offering three stages of music at a picturesque bayfront location.

Two-day passes for the 21-and-older event will cost $85 and go on sale Jan. 2.

The lineup skews toward the underground – among the other performers scheduled to appear are Classixx, Flight Facilities, Robert DeLong, Simian Mobile Disco, Pete Tong and Odesza. The venue is a 12-acre site [pictured below] overlooking San Diego Bay, which, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports, has hosted concerts and a beer-and-wine event before, but never a festival. Past events have had a capacity of up to 3,800, but no other details were available yet about CRSSD other than the fact that craft beer and gourmet food trucks will be on hand.

Best note for Angelenos: The festival is just a short walk from San Diego’s Sante Fe Depot train station.
