Video: Arrica Rose & the …’s, ‘The Shallow End’

What? You’ve never danced alone in front of the jukebox before? I’m not sure we have anything to talk about. For those who have, here’s a new Arrica Rose song to inspire some solitary moves, although we’re not quite sure they’ll have the same intimacy in front of a YouTube video. “The Shallow End” comes from the new album from Arrica Rose & the …’s, “Wavefunction,” a sumptuous collection of old-school torch songs that, as we noted in October, was sequenced and produced just for vinyl, with a Side A of frisky songs and a Side B of intimate, downtempo numbers. So fish out some coins: Rose’s dusky vocals on “The Shallow End” (and on her salute to Roy Orbison, a cover of “In Dreams”) are a serenade for those moments of temporary solace.
