L.A. rockers Great White Buffalo are of the opinion that (to cop a title from a late, great L.A. band) rock ’n’ roll has lost its teeth. Their new “Fangs” EP carries more than a little bite, if not the the gravitas of  many of the bands who’ve carried the indie-rock torch over the past decade. Great White Buffalo – singer-guitarist Graham Bockmiller, guitarist Stephen Johnson, bassist Paul Hiller and drummer Rich Carrillo – worked with producer/engineer Hugo Nicolson (Radiohead, Father John Misty, Primal Scream, etc.) on the new music, which follows up EPs the band released in 2012 and 2013. Included are the taut, Strokes-y “Off the Rails” and the single “Detroit,” whose title, Bockmiller acknowledges, came to the quartet by accident. “One day our bassist Paul showed up with a Detroit shirt on and we realized it just kinda fit perfectly with the (song’s) lyrics in a weird way,” he said. “Side note: I don’t think any of us has ever been to Detroit.”
