Above: Documentary filmmaker David Markey (“1991: The Year Punk Broke”) directed the new video for Bob Mould’s “War” – it’s another of the great tracks on Mould’s album “Beauty & Ruin,” which came out in June. Mould does shows Saturday and Sunday night at the Roxy.

Our staff picks of the week:

@KRBronson recommends: Two monster charity shows cry out for attention this week: Saturday night’s star-studded (and we mean really star-studded, look at the names) Big Star Third show at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, benefiting the Autism Think Tank, features full, orchestrated performances of the albums “#1 Record” and “Third.” And Sunday night’s star-studded (and we mean really star-studded, look at the names) George Fest at the Fonda Theatre salutes the music of George Harrison and benefits Sweet Relief.

@Seraphina_L recommends: The Twilight Series may have ended, but the Santa Monica Pier is home to the Way Over Yonder festival this weekend. Friday’s lineup boasts: Local Natives, Lucinda Williams, Moses Sumney, Houndmouth, Bootstraps, The Far West, the Wild Reeds, Joe Fletcher and Little Hurricane. Saturday’s lineup boasts: Jackson Browne, Heartless Bastards, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Jamestown Revival, Nathaniel Rateliff, Linda Perhacs, Leslie Stevens, Barr Brothers the Lone Bellow, Lenny Goldsmith and Joe Pug. Other hot shows to catch this week: Lykke Li returns to Los Angeles and headlines the Palladium on Tuesday; the Raveonettes play the El Rey Theatre on Wednesday in support of their quietly released album “Pe’ahi;” LP and Zella Day make a perfect pairing at the Roxy on Friday; and TR/ST stops by Fonda Theatre on Saturday in support of the synth-pop band’s sophomore effort “Joyland.”
