Between our swampy weather and late-summer festival fever, I’m running a temperature here at Buzz Bands LA headquarters. Trying to cram all in radio-worthy new music into tonight’s L.A. Buzz Bands Show is making me sweat even more. Join me at 9 p.m. on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org) for this week’s hour-long blast of SoCal music – I’ll have new tunes from Fool’s Gold, Avi Buffalo, Ariel Pink, Mariachi El Bronx, Sophie and the Bom Boms, Sneakout, Lili Haydn, Buddy and Annabel Jones. This week’s “Flashback Track” is kind of a slam dunk, considering who’s headlining the Sunset Strip Music Festival next weekend, and I’ll have a sonic refresher course on two of the great bands playing Saturday afternoon’s free, all-ages Tarfest at the La Brea Tar Pits Park.
