Crash Kings

Another super Saturday:

‣ Chinatown caps its popular Summer Night series with its Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, and it’s another stacked night. The LA Weekly-sponsored live music stage curated by Buzz Bands LA features Crash Kings [pictured], Dorothy, Mosco Rosco, SD3 (featuring Cary Brothers), the Singles and Run Things at Chinatown Central Plaza. Loads of family activities, a stellar lineup of food trucks and a craft beer garden from Eagle Rock Brewery also return for the annual celebration.
‣ If you’re over on the west side, then we suggest catching Kan Wakan perform the cinematic masterpieces from their debut “Moving On” at the Getty as part of  Saturdays Off the 405. Buzz Bands LA’s Seraphina L. will be DJing throghout the night.
‣ If you’re craving seafood and don’t mind trekking it down to Ports O’Call Village in San Pedro, then Lobsterfest is your spot today. They’ve got a live music stage featuring Berlin Featuring Terri Nunn, Sweet & Tender Hooligans, Jessica Childress, Taikoproject, Shana Halligan, Tapioca and the Flea, Irontom, Queen Caveat and Pretty Little Demons. Lobster meals are a steal and there are plenty of fair activities and rides for the family to enjoy too.
‣ Mad Decent Block Party returns to Los Angeles at LA Center Studios (1201 W. 5th St.) with Diplo, Elliphant, Laidback Luke, Liz, STRFKR, Thurz and TJR.
‣ Giant Drag, Habits, Bur Gur and more perform at the Frog Town Art Walk.
‣ The Janks are your band for this week’s Eat See Hear screening (“The Goonies” tonight) at Pasadena Centennial Square.
‣ The Rebel Light also plays an outdoors event; they’re at the Street Food cinema (with a screening of “Garden State”) at Poinsettia Recreation Park, 7341 Willoughby Ave.
‣ England’s Passenger returns to L.A. and headlines the Wiltern.
‣ Owen Pallett stops by the El Rey Theatre in support of both his latest album “In Conflict” and his series of remixes for his latest single “Song For Five & Six.” Long Beach’s own Avi Buffalo supports in anticipation of his long-awaited sophomore album “At Best Cuckold.”
‣ And Black Hi-Lighter celebrates the release of “Looks and Lies” with the Active Set and Terror Tuesday joining them at El Cid.
