‣ OK Go has been added to the lineup for the free Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier; the poptastic video wizards will play Sept. 4, along with Allah-Las. Find the full lineup here.
‣ Mini Mansions are now signed to Capitol Records and in Dallas recording a full-length.
‣ Freedom Fry has been added to radio station 98.7’s ALTimate Block Party, the free show going off Friday, July 4, at Grand Park in downtown L.A. Set times are: Freedom Fry (4 p.m.), Echosmith (4:20), Brick + Mortar (5:15), Phantogram (6:10), Wild Cub (7:20) and Semi Precious Weapons (8:15), followed by fireworks.
‣ K-pop will rule Aug. 9-10 at KCON 2014, the annual celebration of Korean culture being held this year at the Sports Arena. Musical acts performing are B1A4, G-DRAGON, IU, TEENTOP and VIXX on Saturday, and BTS, CNBLUE, Girl’s Generation, Jung Joon Young and SPICA on Sunday. Tickets on sale today.
‣ The Costa Mesa venue formerly known as the Detroit Bar is now The Wayfarer, and it has returned to hosting shows. Kitten is headlining on July 25, and several Burger / Lolipop Records bands appear on the upcoming schedule.
