Echo Park Rising announces huge lineup for three-day festival Aug. 15-17

Kan Wakan, Allah-Las, Woods, De Lux, GoldLink, Myron & E and Cherry Glazerr are among the artists playing Echo Park Rising, which expands to three days of free shows this year (Aug. 15-17) at various venues in Echo Park.

Buzz Bands LA again returns to the Champagne Room at Taix, presenting a Saturday lineup of Tapioca & the Flea, the Dead Ships, Banta, Monogem, Washing Machines, Howls, Dreamland, Wartime Recitals, Pisces and Cinderella Motel.

Echo Park Rising, which began in 2011 in the wake of the demise of the neighborhood festival Sunset Junction, expands to new venues this year, with an also-growing presence of the outdoor stage in the Taix parking lot. Besides more than 70 musical artists, there are family activities, storytelling, visual art, a Saturday basketball game, a Sunday dodgeball game and more.
