Video: yOya, ‘Fool’s Gold’

If Simon & Garfunkel loved synths as much as Alex Pfender and Noah Dietterich, there’s a large chance they would have sounded like L.A.-based yOya. Releasing beautiful single after heartrending single, the duo has kept it simple while going big with their soaring melodies. The clip co-directed by Dave Suchanek and Eleanore Kody does the same as the slight embellishments create just enough mystery but never take the focus off the music. It’s funny to think a band who’s helped flesh out the genre “folk-tronica” can still be compared to the songwriters of “The Sound of Silence,” but it’s also not hard to think yOya could be neck-in-neck with Paul and Simon if there were ever an epic battle of the harmonies.
