From humble beginnings, Low End Theory morphed into one of the most influential club nights in Los Angeles over the past eight years, attracting a collective of boundary-pushing artists and becoming the locus of what became known as the L.A. beat scene. Over the weekend, it flashed its muscle, staging the first Low End Theory Festival at the Echo and Echoplex and selling out both days. Two days of performers included the likes of Invisibl Skratch Piklz, the Internet, Baths, Nosaj Thing, Ras G, Dntel [top photo], Jonwayne and Low End’s residents Daddy Kev, DJ Nobody, D-Styles, the Gaslamp Killer and Nocando.
