Garage-rockers the Futures League came on the radar last year with self-titled EP full of crisp guitars, sunny melodies and carefree attitude. That EP has now been taken down from Bandcamp and retooled as a new EP, appropriately (considering its tone) titled “Don’t Be a Drag.” The new release, out next week, features three songs from the previous EP (including the uber-catchy “Too Many Lies”) and two new ones, all produced by Gus Seyffert. The foursome of singer-guitarist Jon Arman, guitarist Jack Rose, bassist Scott Ruth and drummer John Fontana are Bonnaroo-bound, where they will play the Club Stage next week with the likes of Speedy Ortiz, the Orwells, Hunter Hunted, the Jamestown Revival, the Bots, Parade of Lights and Cayucas. This “new” single is from the previous EP as well, but well worth revisiting.
