L.A.’s Washing Machines return with their sophomore EP “Quick Fix,” and the title rings true as it is only three songs but gets the job done if you’re in the mood for angsty punk that pleases the likes of Kurt Cobain fans. They may have parted ways with Chris Hansen, but as a quartet Washing Machine chugs on with a 7-inch featuring songs such as “Big Cyst” (a dead ringer for Nirvana) and now properly released track “Vaseline,” which appeared on their live EP “Keeeep Washing!” The b-side, “Sonic Fuck,” complements the former with annihilating screams that would make any suburban mother duck for cover. Like a spin cycle that sucks all water out, these new tunes will snatch all the polite bones in your body and leave only the vessel that craves a good mosh pit. “Quick Fix” is out now via Summer Bummer Records.
