Video: A Million Billion Dying Suns, ‘Hey Man’

That’s some glorious fuzz A Million Billion Dying Suns unleashes in its song “Hey Man.” And that’s some as-close-as-you-can-get-to-a-real-acid-trip misadventures our hapless hero (played by Andrew Riddell) has in the video for the song. First, the video: It’s the work of director Andrew Juncker and San Francisco-based French Press Films, and it includes, in no particular order, mean bikers, wizards, masked weirdos, vampires and people at a house party. It’s a trip. A Million Billion Dying Suns, meanwhile, is the brainchild of singer-guitarist Nate Mercereau, abetted by a cast of collaborators some of whom are well-known in SoCal circles for their roles as touring musicians – guitarist Steve Wyreman, bassist Josh Lippi, drummer Derek Taylor and keyboardist Ben Schwier. AMBDS’s wall of sound will appeal to shoegazers and stoner rock fans alike, not to mention other adventurers. “True Reality Lies Beyond the Cosmic Horizon” soundtracked Shaun White’s 2013 GoPro commerical, and on last September’s “Strawberry” EP, A Million Billion Dying Suns shredded (in a good way, we think) Shuggie Otis’ “Strawberry Letter 23.” Turn this up, way up.
