Coachella 2014: Motörhead, vicious and viciously loud

Who: Motörhead in the Mojave Tent
In 3 or Fewer Words: It’s f***ing Motörhead!
Memorable Because: Things that living legend Lemmy Kilmister took Sunday night: the stage by storm, the virginity of at least three women (probably), the future hearing capacity of a crowded Mojave Tent. Lemmy’s worsening health made this a can’t-miss on the Coachella schedule, and those that didn’t skip were treated to the highest level of musical aptitude on any stage any night – played at the loudest volume imaginable. Would you have it any other way? Lemmy looked like a man on the precipice of death, haunting the stage with his terrible visage, fighting-off mortality by howling into the night beneath a bed of shred. Where else can Slash make an appearance and only be the second most iconic rocker in sight? This show kicked ass from start to furious finish. A high watermark of the weekend.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was At Jhené Aiko: You got Drake, I got Slash. Who’s story is going to sound cooler 10 years from now?

Lemmy once said that Motorhead are so loud, if they moved in next door, your lawn would die. How’s the polo field looking?
The polo field looks awesome this year — and the festival grounds are half again bigger than the year you went. And the crowd is half again younger.
