Video: Glasser, ‘Design’

Director Jonathan Turner’s video for the song “Design” could hardly have been more exemplary of “Interiors,” the second album Cameron Mesirow has made as Glasser. “Interiors,” out this week via True Panther, is all clean lines and smooth surfaces; even with Mesirow’s airy voice flitting atop the playful electronics she co-created with producer Von Rivers (Fever Ray), “Interiors” passes the white-glove test. Go ahead, see if you can find dust atop that bookshelf, and please do straighten that vase. Still, for all the meticulousness the now-Manhattan-based songstress has poured into the album, “Interiors” doesn’t feel cold or calculated; it’s something in the way her agile vocal melodies are framed in the compositions, or the less cryptic lyrical content. Engage.
