Marie Moreshead has had a busy year writing, writing and writing. Since teaming up with producer Doctor Rosen Rosen, she’s been the sweet voice coming through your headphones on songs by Wanderhouse. Now she’s begun another project where she records under the moniker Ofelia. The “Hamlet” character may initially come to mind with the name, but Moreshead has got more attitude than the “woe is me” character. Ofelia’s debut single “Hawk Fly Tiger Run” has a pop swagger as much as it swings with a little country twang. It’s much more upbeat than anything she’s done as part of Wanderhouse, but it’s also nice to hear this cheerful side of Moreshead.
