Video: Dark Furs, ‘Concrete Corners’

0

L.A.-based trio Dark Furs, comprised of Suzanne May, Chad Phillipps and Garrett Henritz, ratchets up the rock ’n’ roll tension and splashes it with a little psychedelic blues on their single “Concrete Corners.” Sure, “March to the beat of my own drummer” is a well-worn phrase in both day-to-day conversations and rebellious anthems, but May infuses it with a fresh urgency. Their self-directed video is simple, with a shadowy performance inside and a vast desert landscape outside. Aside from the spontaneous dancing May does toward the end, it’s a perfect visual companion to the song that is also enjoyable without unnecessary frills. Dark Furs’ debut EP is out now.
