‣ Canadian duo Purity Ring and U.K. producer Jon Hopkins – more than just tourmates, they have been collaborators – team up for the first of two nights at the Fonda Theatre. Stream this Hopkins song that features Purity Ring’s vocals, “Breathe This Air,” yeah?
‣ British indie-rockers and Mercury Prize winners Alt-J, still riding “That Awesome Wave,” headline the Hollywood Palladium. (And they’ll do it again on Wednesday.)
‣ Canadian art-pop duo Majical Cloudz, the collaboration between Devon Welch and Matthew Otto, visit the Echo, supported by Moon King and My Hawaii. Majical Cloudz’ album “Impersonator” came out in May on Matador and was nominated for the Polaris Prize; that’s Emily Kai Bock’s video for “Childhood’s End,” above.
‣ Local quintet the Ten Thousand rocks the Bootleg Bar, supported by Decorator.
