Saturday evening might have offered concert overload for music fans, but that didn’t keep the crowds away from 2013’s final Chinatown Summer Nights. An eclectic lineup of seven bands held forth the LA Weekly Live Music Stage, capped by the dance-friendly electro-pop of Hot As Sun and the rhythmically sophisticated indie-rock of Incan Abraham. The night began with the Britpop-tinged pop of Paper Pilots before giving way to the heavy psych-blues of the Vim Dicta, the soaring indie-pop of Soft Swells, the tropical- and surf-infused indie-rock of Salt Petal and the trippy psychedelia of Fever the Ghost. The night also featured KCRW DJs Mario Cotto and Raul Campos spinning in the Central Plaza, dancing, cultural activities and family fun.

Live music returns to Chinatown on Saturday, Sept. 21, for the Chinatown Moon Festival. Stay tuned for a lineup announcement this week.
