Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers play six shows in L.A. this week and they kick it all off at the Fonda Theatre.
‣ Pete Yorn and J.D. King are the Olms and they headline the Troubadour in support of a debut album together. We are the West open. That’s the Olms’ video for “Wanna Feel It” above.
‣ It’s a School Night brings Grizfolk [check out “The Struggle” and “Hymnal”], JMSN, Warships and Dezlin (DJ set) to Bardot.
‣ It’s a lovely night at Hotel Café with Lenka, Holly Conlan, Naia Kete and Jason Joseph & the Spectacular.
‣ The Bootleg kicks off two residencies this month. Monday nights will kick off with the Prince-mentored soul trio KING and Moses Sumney.
‣ Afterward, Summer Twins will also start their residency at the Bootleg. This week they are joined by Michel Rey & the Woebegone’s, Heroes & Heroines.
‣ Over at the Silverlake Lounge, KG Bird plays a bill that also features Bikos, Owl Fly South and Barnaby Saints.
Hindu Pirates have this month’s residency at the Echo. Tonight the Blank Tapes, Beach Party and Rainbow Jackson join them for this week’s installment.
Queen Caveat starts their residency over at the Satellite with 8mm, Cameron Avery (of Tame Impala and the Pond) and Fine.
‣ And Foster the People are doing their second surprise show in as many nights – this one at the Echoplex. (Tickets $10 on sale at noon.)
