Video: On An On, ‘The Hunter’

Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci and Ryne Estwing have shown their chops in various other bands, such as Scattered Trees. However, the Chicago- and Minneapolis-based trio have never sounded more united as when they planted their roots in a studio together under the moniker On An On. That studio time, along with help from producer Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals, Los Campesinos), yielded their debut “Give In,” which is full of anthemic tracks appropriate for anyone’s glory days, big or small. Songs like “Ghosts” twiddle with machinery sound effects underneath the soaring vocals, and their new single “The Hunter” runs amok with vocoder as much as it bangs you over the head with its percussion. In fact, as directors Isaac Gale and Dan Huiting suggest the latter seems go well with metal kids breaking stuff and setting things on fire, too. “Give In” is out now via Roll Call Records.
