Big Thursday evening ahead:

‣ Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players, the all-star cast assembled to play the music created for “Sound City” documentary (there’s an album “Sound City – Real to Reel” on the way in March), rock the Palladium. Collaborators for the L.A. show are expected to include Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, Rick Springfield, Lee Ving of Fear, Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Robert Levon Been and Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Alain Johannes and Chris Goss, along with Grohl’s cuurent and former bandmates including Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Krist Novoselic, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear.
and other familiar faces for a historic evening.
Two Gallants play the Bootleg Theater behind last fall’s album (their first in five years), “The Bloom and the Blight.” Future Twin opens.
‣ San Diego singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman hits the Troubadour behind her fourth album “Cedar + Gold,” with Paul Cannon supporting.
‣ And Meiko returns to her home turf for a show at the Hotel Cafe on a night that also features Sweet Talk Radio, Haley Pharo, Matt Jennings and My Name Is You.
