Gallery: Aberdeen reunion show at the Echo

If Sunday night’s Aberdeen show at the Echo was the live valedictory of the L.A. quartet – and it might have been, given that singer Beth Arzy lives in London now and doesn’t get back to southern California much – it was a fond farewell. Opening a Part Time Punks night that featured fellow Sarah Records alumni 14 Iced Bears, as well as Phil Wilson of the June Brides, Aberdeen sounded as good as, or better, than ever. Arzy and bandmates John Girgus, Johnny Joyner and Brian Espinosa even mixed in a couple of new songs, an indication that there might be an addition to fans’ indie-pop library sometime soon.
