Download: Computer Magic, ‘Found Out’

With laptop artists emerging from bedrooms left and right, going beyond GarageBand for new sounds can be like walking into a black hole. But then along comes Danielle Johnson, aka Danz, aka Computer Magic, whose synth-fueled tunes rival both Goldfrapp and Little Boots and whose soaring melodies make you care not a whit about the process. Computer Magic has consistently been releasing new spacey disco gems since 2010 – with each song slightly stylistically different from the last. After the buzz steadily transitioned into a strong hum, her electro-pop finally gets a proper release via White Iris Records (Big Search, Sweaters, the Dead Trees) on March 15. Her forthcoming 12-inch EP “Electronic Fences” will be a collection of re-recordings of her earlier demos including the whimsical but rock-able jam, “Found Out.”
