Ears Wide Open: Neverever

There’s so much vintage pop bursting out of the indie scene right now that I’m getting nostalgic for the “American Bandstand” of my youth. Can one of you young videographers resurrect that, shot, preferably, in black and white? L.A.-based duo Neverever – the nom de tune of Jihae and Wallace Meek, who met in Glasgow when they were pursuing other pop dreams – unveil their debut album “Angelic Swells” next week on Slumberland Records, just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Sixties. The singles “Young and Dumb” and “Coconut Shampoo” are winsome and catchy and perfect for AM radio. Come to think of it, could one of you young tech geniuses bring that back too?
