It’s been a while since we’ve heard from the War on Drugs, the project led by Adam Granduciel, but we finally have a glimpse into what the Philadephia-based musician has been doing during the last two years. After tirelessly touring in support of 2011’s very excellent “Slave Ambient,” we get “Red Eyes,” a track that picks right up where songs such as “Come to the City” left off. Fans of Kurt Vile have Granduciel to thank a lot for (Vile is a former member of the War on Drugs); there’s the same yearning vocals reminiscent of Neil Young and the same bombastic atmospherics that any Springsteen devotee would appreciate. “Red Eyes” is a track off the War On Drugs’ forthcoming album titled “Lost in the Dream,” which is slated for release in March next year.
