Video: Gap Dream ‘Shine Your Light’

1

It’s easy to imagine the brilliant new Gap Dream album as a Jackson Pollock – an obsessive Gabriel Fulvimar splashing brightly colored synths here and chug-a-lug beats there, until, voilà, it all makes sense, or you can read sense into it. Students of history (or those old enough to remember the Carter Administration) might hear “Shine Your Light” as an accidental Electric Light Orchestra, but Fulvimar, the Cleveland native who took up residence at Burger Records headquarters upon moving to SoCal, keeps his songs loose and fun. And so it is with the new video for the title track, which stars John Ennis, from the HBO comedy program “Mr. Show with Bob and David” as a detective piecing together his own puzzle. The investigator has his Jagermeister, and Gap Dream has whatever stokes its buzz. I’ll have a little more. “Shine Your Light” is out next week.
