Video: Caught a Ghost, ‘Sleeping at Night’

The fusion of Motown and dub-step don’t initially sound appealing, but L.A.’s Caught a Ghost has made “soul-step” a steppingstone for its sound. Along the way, we realized that we like what Jesse Nolan and his crew were doing, and they not only kept churning out the tunes but have also continued to put out music video after music video. But after being signed to +1 Records and releasing their debut EP “Nightworks,” Caught a Ghost has gone back to “Sleeping at Night.” The tune (as good in 2011 as it remains now) was the first slice of audio that featured the enticing compound of organic horns and glitchy soul, and its original accompanying clip full of time-lapse photography of the city. The new video is still a dedication to L.A., but it’s got more of a human touch this time around. “Nightworks” is out now.
