flaamingos

Flaamingos’ shadowy take on ’80s/’90s Euro-gaze conjures up dancing with an apparition in the fog – the fleeting beauty of it resides somewhere in the layers, somewhere in the dark. The L.A. band is the new venture of Jerry Narrows (vocals, drum programming) and Daniel Koontz (guitar, bass, synth), who have recently finished recording a full-length that will come out on Brooklyn-based imprint Felte (PVT, Eraas, et al). Narrows’ previous music fell more into 1960s-derived psychedelia, but here dissonance wins out over jangle, and mystery over romance. Perfect for when the lights are just so.
