Video: Frankie Rose, ‘Gospel/Grace’

Going solo is the best decision Frankie Rose made in her career so far, and her forthcoming album “Interstellar” (out Feb. 21 on Slumberland Records) is without a doubt solid proof. Going beyond the lo-fi girl-pop tunes she offered on her self-titled debut in 2010 with backing band the Outs, Rose boldly dives so deep into waves of reverb-coated dream-pop on this solo effort, any C86 fan would find it difficult to deny her stunning tsunamis of sparkling synths and spacey harmonies. The Hannah Lew-directed clip for “Gospel/Grace” helps illustrates the melodic odyssey but only scratches the surface of the record’s pop-grandeur.
