Who: Band of Skulls at the Gobi Tent.

I’ll Forget This By Morning Because: (And only because) their sets last year in smaller L.A. venues were so memorable. Not that the U.K. trio’s meaty blues-rock had any trouble carrying the packed tent, but some of Russell Marsden’s guitar leads (and even more of his and Emma Richardson’s vocals) were obfuscated by the mix. Still, songs like “Death by Diamonds and Pearls” are worthy of their aesthetic’s long lineage, as the bobbing heads of fans young and old attested.
What I’d Tell a Friend Who Was at Beach House: You got your warm-and-fuzzy, I got my hot-and-sticky.
