While those other British dudes were playing a show across town, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds alighted at the Orpheum Theatre for 90 minutes of audacious, brass-accented rock that included five songs from the band that ruled Britpop and brotherly brawls, Oasis. The show was in support of the High Flying Birds’ second album, “Chasing Yesterday,” released in Feburary, and featured seven of the new songs, highlighted by “You Know We Can’t Go Back” and “In the Heat of the Moment.” (“Do the Damage,” which appears on the deluxe edition of the new album, kicked off the proceedings.) “The Death of You and Me,” the biggest single from the band’s 2011 debut, made an appearance halfway through the set, which was capped by a three-song encore ending with the Oasis hit “Don’t Look Back in Anger.”
