Video premiere: Fairbanks & the Lonesome Light, ‘Be Here at All’

Transplanted Austinites Erik Flores and Amelia Rose Logan debuted their collaboration Fairbanks — now Fairbanks & the Lonesome Light — a couple of years ago, weaving the elements of traditional Americana into life-affirming songs that, as the chorus to their new single goes, make you “feel lucky to be here at all.” The Echo Park couple makes it sounds so easy, with guitar, bass, mandolin, pedal steel and drums flavored by tasty he/she vocals, Flores’ world-weary and Logan’s angelic. Fairbanks’ long-in-the-works debut album is coming in June, and it’s strong evidence that amid the numbing noise of current culture, and amid the deafening roar next-big-thing Los Angeles, there’s a porch in Echo Park where you can pause for a moment and appreciate how good it is to be alive.
