Coachella 2015: PHOX, a lunchtime treat

0

Who: PHOX at the Outdoor Theatre.
In 3 or Fewer Words: Kinda folking great.
Memorable Because: Keep an eye on Wisconsin’s alt-folk underdog heroes, who released their debut album last year and on Saturday played a noon-hour set on the Outdoor Stage. Singer-songwriter Monica Martin gave Coachella’s indie-bro frontmen a run for their money in the snark race, dropping gems such as “This song is about what an ass Scott Walker is” and “Look us up on LinkedIn or Tumblr” between delightful indie-folk nuggets like “Slow Motion” and “Garden of Night,” perfect for soundtracking the day’s first burrito in the shade.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Didn’t Eat That Burrito: Thou art wise beyond your years.
