Rose quartz

Denver-duo-turned-quartet Rose Quartz have released their new single “Leaving Now.” Having shared stages with the likes of Cut Copy, St. Lucia, and Future Islands, Rose Quartz are beginning to twirl their finger in the murky pool of synth-pop. The band is named after the “stone of love” — a theme that they touch on heavily in their music — and on their EP “Axis of Love,” released Jan. 6, Rose Quartz draw on many influences beyond the loop-station. Founding members Ethan Converse (vocals, keys) and Alex Anderson (bass, synth) originally called themselves Flash/Lights, but with a new name and new touring members Matt Tanner (drums) and Clay Cornelius (guitar, bass),  Rose Quartz is growing by leaps and grooves. The dance-pop number “Leaving Now” possesses sexy soulful vocals and catchy disco layers. Their knack for analog-synth and dark vibes make Rose Quartz a very sultry listen.
