KCSN2014NEW-500Welcome to the final “regular” L.A. Buzz Bands Show of 2014 … if any of them are regular, that is. Next week, on Dec. 28, I’ll have a marathon show, counting down my 40 favorite songs of the year. Tonight at 9 on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org), I’ll spin a few new songs (Milo Greene, the Black Watch, the Bad Years), a few songs from earlier in the year (Incan Abraham, Sneakout, Afternoons, Freedom Fry) and some holiday tunes – including freshly minted tracks from 8mm and Anny Celsi. Curl up in front of the fireplace and join me. Plus, there’s this week’s “Flashback Track” from Painted Hills – see what that is all about in the playlist below:

Sneakout, “The Art of Hanging On”
Bonfire Beach, “Spit U Out”
Incan Abraham, “Concorde”
The Black Watch, “There You Were”
8mm, “Zat You Santa Claus”
Afternoons, “Say Yes”
Milo Greene, “Parents’ House”
Anny Celsi, “Christmas in the Pines”
Zola Jesus, “Dangerous Days”
Freedom Fry, “Home”
The Jigsaw Seen, “What About Christmas”
** Painted Hills, “Kaleidoscope Eyes”
The Bad Years, “Didn’t Need to Know”
Moses Sumney, “Plastic”
Rocco DeLuca, “Colors of the Cold”

** Flashback Track: From Painted Hills’ self-titled 2010 album, the work of singer-guitarist Josh Schwartz. A benefit concert for Schwartz, who has been battling ALS for the past three-plus years, goes off Monday night at the Echoplex.
