Video: Dan Deacon, ‘Feel the Lightning’

The first thing you need to know about the video for Dan Deacon’s new song “Feel the Lighting” is that the upholsterer gets a credit. The second thing you need to know is that the effeminate voice in the track is Deacon himself. The multi-faceted electronic musician has announced that his new album, the self-produced “Gliss Riffer,” will be out Feb. 24 via Domino. “Feel the Lightning” is all buzzing synths and syrupy melody and agitated rhythms, catchy as only a man who pulls off call-and-response vocals with himself can be. Director Andrew Jeffrey Wright’s colorful video suggests it’s time to move around the furniture, which, if you’ve followed Deacon’s career over the past 10 years, he does every now and then.
