The Chinatown Live Music Stage returns this afternoon for a matinee show in conjunction with CicLAvia – the free, all-ages event features PARIS, Wyatt Blair, Go Betty Go, Trapdoor Social and Boys School, with bands playing on the hour starting at noon.
Elton John does a second night at Staples Center.
‣ Old school meets newer school when the legendary John Prine teams up with Conor Oberst for a show at the Greek Theatre.
‣ And the Drums, back with their third album “Encyclopedia” on Sept. 23, headline the Mayan Theater. Above, the video for “Magic Mountain.”
