KCSN2014NEW-500I’m feeling as if it’s a good Sunday to make some new musical friends. So tonight’s L.A. Buzz Bands Show – kicking off at 9 p.m. on KCSN (88.5 FM, streaming at KCSN.org) is loaded with new arrivals. There will songs from forthcoming albums by Afternoons, Northern American and Francisco the Man, along with music from Raw Fabrics, the Bulls, BØRNS, Sullen Ray, GNTLMN and Night Terrors of 1927. And is anybody else curious about what those garage-rock fiends the Dead Ships have been up to? I’ll have a sneak peek. This week’s “Flashback Track” jumps back to 2004 and a song from a rare indie-rock compilation titled “I Love L.A., Vol. 1,” and do I ever wish there would have been a Vol. 2. Anyway, the playlist is below, subject to last-minute tweaking. Tune in, yeah?

The Bulls, “Come Unwound”
BØRNS,”10,000 Emerald Pools”
The Dead Ships, “Canyon”
Raw Fabrics, “Down the Drain”
Electrets, “Misfits”
Afternoons, “Graffiti Artist”
Sullen Ray, “Without You”
Night Terrors of 1927, “When You Were Mine” (ftr. Tegan and Sara)
Northern American, “Elysian”
Meiko, “Be Mine”
Eddie Cohn, “Don’t Disappear Yet”
GNTLMN, “Black Tongue”
** Midnight Movies, “Blue Babies”
Francisco the Man, “It’s Not Your Fault”
Mia Doi Todd, “Cais”

** Flashback Track: From the compilation “I Love L.A., Vol. 1” (2004), which featured songs from Moving Units, Ima Robot, Dirty Little Secret, the Blood Arm, Hello Fever and more.
