Even on a steamy Saturday night, the second installment of the Country in the City live music series at the Annenberg Space for Photography put a spring in your step. Grammy Award-winning Shelby Lynne headlined, with an opening set from folk harmonizers Jamestown Revival. With whip-cracking and lassoing demonstrations and Western garb looking not a little bit out of place amid the sleek architecture of Century City, the event drew a huge crowd to the museum, which is touting its latest exhibition “Country: Portraits of an American Sound,” featuring images of the pioneers, poets and icons of country music. The free, RSVP-only series winds up next Saturday with Wynonna & the Big Noise and Nikki Lane.
