Video: The Fresh & Onlys, ‘Animal of One’

It’s been a year since the Fresh & Onlys released their “Soothsayer” EP, and since then guitarist Wymond Miles has spent time promoting his solo material. But now the San Francisco quartet is back together supporting a full-length follow-up to 2012’s “Long Slow Dance.” If the Western tinges in their psychedelic pop-rock got you the last time around, then their new album “House of Spirits” offers a hazy addendum. Heck, even their new Matt Medhi-directed clip for their track “Animal of One” is a trip. With bassist Shayde Sartin starring in a bizarre “Paris, Texas”-like journey, he encounters a mysterious woman (who happens to be played by the Sandwitches’ Grace Cooper), played out in a movie house where his bandmates either scoff or doze off at their surroundings. (Except for Miles; he does a pretty rad guitar solo down in front.) The Fresh & Onlys’ “House of Spirits” is out now via Mexican Summer.
